  • Empresa:

    JAN DEKKER

  • INCI Name:

    Carapa Guianensis Seed Oil

Documentos

Andiroba Oil is obtained from the seeds of the Amazonian tree species Carapa guaianensis. The oil shows antioxidant and healing properties. The oil may be used for skin healing and for protection against influences of oxidation on ageing. The oil contains unique limonoids (tetranortriterpenoids), known for their anti- inflammatory and anti-allergic potential. An abundance of (in vitro) tests show clear anti-inflammatory effects on inflammation mediators, and pretreatment in other tests showed a reduction of oedema. Collagen synthesis-promoting properties have also been found, important for elasticity retention.
